Nabarro moves into PFI premier league with £1 billion of housing projects

07 January 2008

Law firm Nabarro has moved into the top tier of firms specialising in social housing PFI schemes, with the announcement that the number of projects on which it has been asked to advise has reached double figures.

Nabarro's projects team recruited Robin Baillie and Anna Le Jehan from PFI rivals Pinsent Masons in 2007 to head up their housing PFI practice, which has since gone from strength to strength. Robin and Anna have been successful in helping to introduce clients such as Regenter, Nationwide and Equitix to the firm. The team have been asked to advise on ten PFI projects to date which are at various stages of procurement and worth over £1 billion in terms of capital expenditure.

Nabarro projects partner Robin Baillie commented:

"We are delighted to be working with market leading clients such as Regenter, NBS and Equitix. The projects team at Nabarro has always been strong on the public sector side but is currently undergoing a step-change in both the number and reputation of clients on the private sector side. The team has recently been very successful in winning projects across a number of sectors, but particularly in housing, waste, energy and health. I am delighted to be a part of that."

Jim Saunders, Head of Regenter, said:

“It is a pleasure working with Robin and the team at Nabarro. They are adept at going beyond the pure legal requirements of a project to bring a clear, commercial perspective and depth of experience that genuinely adds value. We are currently working with them on several PFI schemes across the country and look forward to continuing that relationship going forward.”
