The Real Hotel Company is to sell the Quality Hotel in Westminster, the Comfort Inn, Kensington, and the Purple Hotel in the City. The sale is a class 1 transaction for RHC and is subject to shareholder approval. Whitbread, the leisure group, is paying £18.5m for the three hotels. It will spend another £12m converting them to the Premier Inn brand. Whitbread also has the right of first refusal on any future disposals of certain purple branded hotels by the Real Hotel Company. The team at Nabarro was led by corporate partners Peter Williamson and Patrick Speller. Whitbread was advised by Slaughter and May. Peter Williamson commented: “We were delighted to assist the Real Hotel Company in this significant transaction for them achieved over a short period of time. The disposal will enable the Real Hotel Company to focus on growing its “purple” branded budget hotels.” If you would like any further information please contact: Charlotte Tandy
